Madelyn Jane Hartsell is Baptized

Madelyn was baptized Sunday, Oct 23rd.  Her Godparents, Beth & Joe, her grandpa and grandma Giese and her cousins, Juliana and Connor were there to celebrate with her. She did great with no crying or much fussing the whole service.  Connor was more than happy to cheer on Madelyn from the pew as she got baptized.  Madelyn wore a baptismal gown from the late 1800's that her great-great grandmother wore as well as her grandma, her mom, her first cousin, Juliana and her third cousin, Reese. After the service, we all celebrated with brunch at Pancake Cafe. Juliana surprised us by eating all three of her large chocolate chip pancakes!!  Madelyn ended the day by showing us how she can roll over from front to back & back to front! Yeah!

Madelyn's a Butterfly!

Saturday Madelyn went trick or treating for the first time.  Her good friend, Eliza, came with us. It was so much fun catching up with her. Cousins, Juliana and Connor, were also there. Madelyn went as a pink and purple butterfly. We were so lucky to have a beautiful day. It was almost 70 degrees!

Meeting Regina

Last Saturday, we all went up to Wisconsin to meet Regina Bronk who is the daughter of an old, dear friend of mine.  Madelyn and Regina were so cute. They are two months apart almost exactly but Madelyn looks so much bigger. They really do grow up a lot in two months.  Congrats to the Bronk family!

The Bronk Family (minus big brother Tanner)

Regina was a great baby that just sleep anywhere! We were amazed!

Madelyn was happy :)
The girls love their fists

Gina, you are my friend. Can I hold your hand?

Three Months Old

Madelyn is three months old! It's hard to believe.  She surprised us with giving us her first laugh on Oct 10th. It was so cute.  She also is now letting us face her out for some of our walks. She seems to be soaking up everything in her sight.  She's still a great sleeper for us. Sleeping from 7 pm to 6 am.  Unfortunately, she is still not napping well at school so sometimes she comes home and is ready to go to bed early which makes us sad since we hardly ever see her.  And she is so close to rolling over from back to front.  She just gets her arm caught under her when she is on her tummy.  She was not smiling for me the morning she turned 3 months even after I moved her from place to place in hopes of smiles.  We still have to work hard for those smiles.
Daddy got the smiles before I got dressed

Even with the help of Madelyn's teachers--no smiles

Hey look at me, I'm three!

Hartsell Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Hartsell & Aunt Laura and her boyfriend Andrew came to visit Madelyn this past weekend. She loved the attention and loved when Grandpa carried her in the bjorn around Herrick Lake. Thanks for visiting. Come again!

Here are some good photos of Madelyn and her daddy.

First time facing out for a walk--She loved looking at the trees!

He can always get a smile out of her :)
 Some cute ones of her:
Our little angel swaddled in her swing = 3 hour naps :)
My friend Jen made Madelyn a few hand knitted things. Our favorite are these booties. Too bad they are a little big for now.
Do you like my booties!?  I am so cute I look like an elf.

Preta's Shelf

Brian made a new shelf for Preta to enjoy. He used his router to make a nice round edge and then stained it.  Preta seems to really enjoy his new view.  I think Leia might be jealous!

Haley's Wedding

October 1st Haley Balluff got married! It was crazy to think that the little girl I used to babysit is all grown up but we were honored to go to her wedding and reception.  Here are a few photos from the night:

We had a great night and were surprised to go pick up a sleeping Madelyn at Beth and Joe's house. They said she was an angel and only cried once!! Yeah!

Pumpkin Farm

Madelyn went to the pumpkin farm with her cousins this past week. She is getting excited for Halloween and learned all about animals at the small children's zoo.  She is wearing a cubs outfit because this past week was Spirit Week at school.  Madelyn was able to participate in 4 of the 5 days and Thursday was wear your favorite sports team.

It was hard getting everyone to smile and look at the camera at the same time.  It was a very windy night!   Connor loved the wind and was constantly laughing. Madelyn was indifferent.

Madelyn Two and Half Months

Madelyn has gone to school now for two weeks and she seems to be doing fine although so far only takes about 30 minute naps but we are hoping that will improve with age.  She also made her first art drawing for us :)

She is starting to hold onto things and becoming more and more interested in her surroundings.
