Juliana's Big Girl Party

Juliana had her first birthday party with school friends and Madelyn was lucky enough to be invited. It was so cute watching Madelyn with the big 5 & 6 year olds. She had a blast as she always does at her cousin's birthday parties.  This year's theme was Fairies!

Gymnastics!

Madelyn loved her gymnastics class this fall. I am so glad that it actually ran because the first session of the fall got canceled.  She loved having Connor and Juliana (a friend from Goddard) also in her class.  We signed her up for the next session so hopefully she continues to like it.

Baby #2 Update

Madelyn seems excited about the baby but I am still not sure if she really knows what's coming.  She knows that only girls can have babies grow in their tummies not boys.  The other day she told me her tummy was getting big and then said that she had a baby growing in it. Too cute!

As for me, I am starting to get uncomfortable but both baby and mom are healthy so I can't complain too much. I've been meeting with the doctor for a few weeks now and so far things are going well. I am measuring just right so we'll see how everything works out.  She doesn't want me to go too much past my due date so hopefully the baby makes an appearance early so we can try for a VBAC.

The bad news is the blood bank tested my blood and it was Rh- so even though the two previous tests said it was Rh+, I will still get rhogam shots this pregnancy since it's better to error on the side of caution.

Madelyn takes great care of all her dolls!

Madelyn wanted a baby in her tummy too so we put baby Hope in her shirt!

Our Many Halloween Activities

Halloween seems to take over October but we don't mind!  We returned to Abbey Farms Pumpkin Daze this year. Madelyn loved it like last year. There was so much to do! Madelyn loved the hayride and had fun running though the corn maze even through we got more lost than we had planned. She also liked pretending to lasso the animals, going down the jumpy slides, riding on the zipline and sliding down the hill slides.

Then we hit up Safety Town trick-or-treating for the third year in a row with our friend Eliza. Madelyn went as a pretty pink witch but I couldn't get her to keep her hat on and Eliza was a beautiful butterfly.

It was hard getting a photo of them both looking!

Giving Daddy's kisses.
We also went to a small Halloween thing sponsored by realtor from our neighborhood. They had face painting, pony rides, games, a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating but Madelyn's favorite was the free popcorn!  She surprised us all when she actually rode on the pony. She always says she wants to but then when it's time, she gets scared. Way to conquer your fears, Madelyn!  Aunt Laura and her boyfriend, Dan, also came to see us and join in on the fun. Then we went to brunch together afterwards at Pancake Cafe.

Checking out the baby pigs.

She loved the ducks.

She wasn't that interested in decorating her pumpkin.

She didn't get that you were supposed to stand in one spot!

Still not sure.

She even gave a smile :)

Sporting all the fun gifts from Aunt Laura all at once!
This year, we decided to try carving a pumpkin for the first time.  Madelyn was interested but didn't want to touch the insides of the pumpkin so mommy did all the scooping.  Madelyn's favorite part was cleaning off the pumpkin with water so we could draw on it to make the face.  She also enjoyed drawing on it.  Maybe next year she'll do more.

Her face was funny when I showed her the guts of the pumpkin.

Cleaning off the front of the pumpkin

Drawing on the pumpkin was fun!

Finished product.
Madelyn had a party at school and both mommy and daddy were able to come and join in the fun.

It was a rainy day but it stopped in time to get in some short trick-or-treating. Brian took Madelyn around our neighborhood.  She loved it but also was a big help passing out candy at home until a kid came with a scary mask on that terrified her--poor thing.  We also went to a neighbor's house that Halloween night for a Halloween party. It was a lot of fun but Madelyn got scared of the gorilla.  Luckily the little boy was sweet and took off his mask to show her, he was just a boy.  After that Madelyn wanted to see the gorilla but was still scared of it.
