5/17/14 Allison's 4th month

Here's what Allison's been up to in her 4th month:

• She is observing everything and likes to be carried face out so she can watch things.
• Her head control has greatly increased. She is enjoying tummy time for short bits of time.
• She is getting her thumb in her mouth but not really using it to soothe herself.
• She has started to take a predicable morning nap. 
• She started making a small noise for us when she smiles but Daddy got out of her her first belly laugh on May 10th :)
• She has a bald spot from sleeping on her back.
• She quickly out grew size 1 diapers.
• She still sleep swaddled.
• She is turning toward Madelyn when she hears her talk.  I love seeing them interact!
• She can get her whole fist into her mouth!! YUM!
• I started reading to her at night before bed. We like to read Guess How Much I Love You and Goodnight Moon.
• Her arms seem to "crack" when she stretches and she seems to keep her arms father back than would seem comfortable.
• People who meet her asked if she was storing up nuts for winter because of her chubby cheeks.
• She is still a good sleeper for me except when she had a 100.5 fever and cold for two weeks. She sleeps 5:30 pm to about 7 am.

4 Months:
Head Circumference: 15.51" (21%)
Length: 23.63" (21%) - Madelyn was 24.5" (66%)
Weight: 13 lb 13 oz (47%) - Madelyn was 14 lb 4 oz (74%)

2 Months:
Head Circumference: 14.88" (37.4%)
Length: 22" (30.63%)
Weight: 11 lb 13.2 oz (61.22%)

Allison's Baptism

Allison was baptized on Sunday, April 27th.   Her Godparents, Beth & Joe, her grandpa and grandma Giese and her cousins, Juliana and Connor were there to celebrate with her.  Allison wore a baptismal gown that was first wore in 1888 by her great-great-grandfather, Edwin Helmicks. Allison's great-grandma, grandma, mom, sister, cousin Juliana as well as many other family members were all baptized in the same gown! After the service, we all celebrated with brunch at Pancake Cafe.

The most memorial part of the baptism was when I was holding Allison and tried to reposition her and a lady in gasped thinking I was going to drop her but I didn't!

Madelyn's Swimming Lessons

Madelyn started taking swim lessons at Dupage Swimming Center. Since she is under 3, she is in a parent tot class but she is doing great and is one of the best in her class. She loves the water and says her favorite thing is to go under water!
