7/4/14 Fourth of July

We had a great Fourth of July.  We made handprint t-shirts for all the kiddos including Allison. Then we decorated Madelyn's scooter for the annual bike parade in my parent's neighborhood. We stayed around for the pancake breakfast and were happy they opened the pool early so the kiddos could swim before heading home for a nap.  Then we went over to our neighbor's party.  Afterwards, Madelyn kept saying she wanted to go the the "fireplace" so Brian stayed home with Allison and Madelyn and I went to church to watch the fireworks.  She had a great time and loved making a visor so she could be just like daddy (Brian wears a visor while running). She was also very brave and held her first sparkler!

Madelyn and Connor gave up and decided it was better to run!
Allison was suppose to ride in the stroller but she slept the entire parade.

Trying hard to get a good photo of all four of them--IMPOSSIBLE!
Allison was so gentle with Leia.
And then she got a mouthful of Leia's tongue--poor thing!

She was BRAVE!
Loving her visor!

6/29/14 Santa's Village

Madelyn, Allison and I went to Santa's Village with Aunt Beth, Juliana and Connor. It was so much fun. Juliana and Connor had a great time showing Madelyn all the rides and to my surprise Madelyn was very brave but was happy to have her cousins by her side.

Ready for a hot, fun day!

Madelyn wasn't sure so Juliana rode with her and she ended up loving it!
Every time it did a little whip, Madelyn would make this face & then smile!

It was super FAST! I had to hold on tight!

Madelyn touching the north pole which is very cool even on a hot day.

6/25/14 Brian's Birthday

Madelyn helped me make a dairyfree cake for Brian. She enjoyed licking more than mixing :)  She also loved singing Happy Birthday to him night after night.  We ended up freezing about half of the 24 cupcakes because it was just too much cake!!

Enjoy Madelyn singing to Brian!

6/20/14 Madelyn went to work!

FermiLab has their own bring your son or daughter to work called DASTOW. Brian asked Madelyn if she'd rather go to school and attend bike day or come to work with him and there was no question, she wanted to go to work. She was so excited and even when getting dressed she commented that it was her work dress and her work shoes!

Here was the agenda for the day.

She was not a fan of Mr. Freeze since it involved lots of explosions which were LOUD.  She did enjoy seeing the trucks and going to the top of the big building. She also liked hanging out in daddy's office and making friends. She even took a nap in his office so he could actually work some. They gave everyone a copy of the large photo which she loves and is pretty good at finding herself and her friends.
