My kids love baths!

Both girls loves bubbles and taking a bath in our big tub. I think it's like a pool to them!

Madelyn is SANTA!

1/30/16: Husky Heros at Morton Arboretum

Who would have thought there were so many great winter events at the Arboretum! The kids loved Huskey Heros. We watched them race on grass since there was no snow and then afterwards we got to pet as many as we wanted. Allison was in heaven and wanted to pet every single one! I didn't get many photos but here a few cute ones.

1/28/16: Morton Arboretum Unchanted Railroad Display

All the kids LOVED this. Allison's favorite part was pushing the buttons to make the waterfall turn on, or the Thomas train to go (when it wasn't off the track) or to make the ghosty noise in the haunted house or tree go timber. Connor's favorite train was the passenger train and Madelyn's favorite train was the freight train. They loved watching the salt pearls get dumped from the train into the silo too! Check out a video of the trains at the end. It wasn't too cold so the kids were also able to play in the children's garden too!

1/23/16: Connor's 5th Birthday Party

Connor celebrated his fifth birthday Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles style! Madelyn and Allison loved it!

The girls enjoyed play fighting with their souvenirs.

Allison 21-24 months (Oct 17 - Jan 17)

I'm not sure how Allison is now two but she's bloomed a lot these last three months!

Physical
  • Allison is very psychical and could jump with 2 feet at the same time 11/5/15
  • At 21 months, she can balance on one leg.
  • She is constantly requesting flips or 1, 2 3 where we swing her!
  • She is a great climber and loves the swing set.
  • She still loves her swim class.
Verbal
  • She calls Madelyn Ma-De or Ma-Da for a long time then started calling her Manna (like the bread in the bible) in December.
  • She'll say "Treat" and then say Leia or Preta meaning she wants to give them treats. She loves the animals and they love her!
  • She knows all her friends by name at school and can point to them correctly including the twins in class photos.
  • She'll just randomly say "Joe" and then want to call him! It's so funny.
  • She loves to say "Hi Connor" constantly and we were a little stumped as of why she didn't say hi to Juliana only to learn that she was saying "Ja-nner" for Juliana which just sounded so much like Connor we couldn't tell them apart.
  • She knows the Animal Noises for the following animals: Cow, dog, cat, owl, elephant, monkey, lion, bear, snack, fish, horse, sometimes a bird.
  • She loves my old Samantha doll and calls her "man-ta"
  • She used to say everything was blue but now it's blue and green. She is learning her colors from barbie shoes and dot markers probably not how most 1 year olds learn. Gotta love being a little sister.
  • She says "cheese" when she wants you to take your picture or when her picture is being taken
  • "Neigh poop" means horse poop. After our camping trip in Sept where we went on a trail that had horse poop! She also says it now when the horses at blackberry farm poop. She talked about it for a long long time even into October!
  • She learned to say Spider, Applesauce and Hot Coco clear as day in October!
  • She'll constantly ask "Why mommy why?" After trying and trying to answer her question. We finally say I don't know and she'll say "cuz!"
  • She also drives us crazy when she says"nope!" over and over.
  • She says"Oh" with infection. It makes me laugh.
  • She loves geese and will say "geese" then points to them flying or seeing them on the ground.
  • She says okay as "O-tay" is so many ways - happy or sad.
  • She says "bobby" for blanket and "car" for door or car.
  • She knows her colors red, yellow, green and blue from her cash register coins.
  • She says "No Mommy got it" when she wants mommy to get something. She is particular  about who should get things for her. She usually wants mommy to get it.
  • She wants to wear "jeans" so she says it constantly, luckily she's fine if they are just cotton pants that look like jeans.
  • She will say "daddy brush, mommy lap" meaning she wants to sit on mommy laps while daddy brushes her teeth.
  • She loves to read and lets us know by saying "read" and then gives us books :) How can you say no to that!?
  • She says "mommy is that?" meaning Mommy what is that?
  • She said "me cough, me cry, mommy come" when she was sick one night. The doctor was impressed she could string so many words together before 2
  •  She says "Tricky" when she can do something or sometimes she'll say "Stuck"
  •  She is a good barterer already saying "one more" while nodding her head to get you in agreement. :)
  • She'll sit down to put her shoes on and say "wrong foot?" asking if she is putting on the wrong foot.
  • She loves to say "me got it" or "me do it!"
Special Moments

  • Allison loves to flush the toilets at public places where Madelyn hates too! They make a great pair!
  • She LOVES her owl blanket given to her by Madelyn. She can even tell which one is hers or Madelyn's by the fuzzyness of it. :)
  • Allison said Preta out of the blue when we were riding bikes around the lake. Brian asked her if she had seen a cat and she said yes so they went back and she pointed out "Preta." Sure in enough, she had seen a black cat and decided it must be Preta luckily it wasn't our black cat. We all watched him for a short while until he hopped off the log. Then she kept saying "Preta Hop" over and over again when she thought of her discovery. She then started hopping when she said "Preta Hop."
  • In October, Allison would check us for poopies by pulling our pants out like we've checked her! Luckily we never had any phew! because I'm sure she'd want to wipe us like she does her dollies day in and day out.
  • She is always asking for the song Tomorrow or May All. She is so cute when she says "omorrow"for tomorrow. (November)
  •  Allison started saying "mama GO!" whenever I stop the car at a stoplight (she can't see that there are cars in front of me or that it's red but even when I tell her this, she still says to Go!) 11/11/15
  • She likes Madelyn, Mommy and Daddy sandwiches where we put the person in between us and "make a sandwich of them"
  • Allison says the darnest things! After Madelyn was being silly and called the neighbor kids "Pizza Head," Allison started saying "Bye Pizza" and she'll even say "Hi Pizza" :) 11/16/15
  • She is able to open her own bananas but she does this by bitting the bottom off. Maybe she's part Monkey :)
  • She loves songs and can ask for them by her special names. Away in a Manger is "Baby Jesus song", We wish you a Merry Christmas is "clapping song"  because this version says "Now let's all do a little clapping." She'll make sure to tell us all to clap with the song too. :)
  • She'll also ask for VBS which sounds more like BBS and is so cute singing along saying "Oh oh oh oh" and waving her hands when the song says to  (Jesus is Alive song)
  • She can give quite a glare to strangers that she doesn't like or isn't too sure of then which usually gets them to go away which is what she wants.
  • Santa sounds a lot like the way she says Samantha so it got very confusing (An-ta). She is NOT found of Santa even a blown up flying Santa that our neighbors have. She was visually scared and yelling "Mommy no" when I even went in its direction.  Poor thing!
  • Allison first went pee in the potty back in July but had been going off and on. She went pee-pee in the big potty 11/21 then again the next day and by 11/30 Allison started peeing and pooping on the potty lots. She was all about it even though Brian and I weren't ready to potty train.  Over Christmas break, she surprised us and went every time we stopped on our way to and from Omaha. It was then that she said she wanted to wear underwear. The harder part about potty training her was that she couldn't hold it until nap time like Madelyn had been able to so it's been a LOT of trips to the bathroom.
  • She's given me the finger to tell me to wait like I do to her. At least it's sinking in on what it actually means.
  • She said "Mada" and then made the kiss, kiss noise signalling to me she wanted to give Madelyn a kiss but unfortunately Madelyn was already asleep. Allison is very affectionate. 11/13/15
  •  Allison is very concerned when people cry. If you make a sad face or have an ouchie, she'll come kiss you to make it better.
  • Allison loves to turn off the light switches and tell everyone "night, night." It's so cute but after 20 times it gets old.
  • She also enjoys turning on or off the basement light with her head since it's a big switch and she can just bang it with her head when we're carrying her up. To tell us she wants to do this she says "Head" and points to the light switch.
  • She is obsessed with washing her hands because she LOVES bubbles. She may have decided to potty train just so she could wash her hands :)
  • She says "No Jenny" when she doesn't want to go to school which has been since she changed to the two year old room in very beginning of January. It was a rough transition especially since she's only going 2 half days now.
  • She loves to carry purses around her neck and arm, so they are at her side.
  • She covers her nose with both hands so I can't clean out all the fuzz she stuck up her nose!!
  • She loves zipping and unzipping our zippers. She'll say "too tight?" when she zips it up all the way.
  • She'll say "tight" when she wants to ride on my back since I always say to hold on tight :)
  • When we made Reindeer food and sprinkled it outside, Allison kept saying "rein eat" meaning the reindeer were going to eat the food :)
  • Allison danced while eating her noodles birthday dinner. She was so happy.

Allison likes to stuff fuzz up her nose. It's very comforting to her.

Loving her sunbutter!
She got very into backpacks!
She was determined to go potty!

She loves purses. I find many random things in them.

She loves cars and buses.
Kyra, our neighbor, always stores her phone like this and now Allison does too!
