We went to Boston for my friend Shaina's wedding the weekend of June 21-23. It was hard for me since I was away from Madelyn two weekends in a row but we had a great time. Friday we spent time in the Boston. We ate at one of the oldest Italian Restaurants in the North End and then followed the Freedom Trail to Boston Common. It was a beautiful night in Boston. Saturday morning, we met Tom, Lani and their daughter, Zoe, for breakfast. Tom and Brian had worked together in Chicago before they moved out to Boston for Lani's doctorate program in Epidemiology at Harvard. It was so much fun catching up with them. After breakfast they walked us around MIT which is where Lani went to undergrad so it was fun learning about the school history.
After breakfast, we drove 2 hours up to New Hampshire where my friend's wedding was. The wedding was at a place called Castle in the Clouds. It was absolutely beautiful although it did sprinkle a little during the out door ceremony but nothing bad. Veena and her husband Don also came for the wedding. It was so much fun catching up with them. Shaina, Veena and I had met freshman year at Iowa when we took "Courses in Common." I hadn't seen either of them for a few years so it was so good catching up.
Sunday we just drove back to Boston and caught our flight back. We were so happy to have my dad and Madelyn pick us up at the airport! It was a nice weekend away just the two of us but we were happy to get back to our little one :)
